How Do I?

Just how do I get rid of the smoke smell in my house? I set my oven to self cleaning tonight and it started on fire inside the oven. Lots of black smoke and duh the door is locked so couldn't open it and toss in something to kill the flames. Did the next best thing and turned off the gas but still the house reeks. Now I am somewhat laughing wondering why I didn't grab my camera so I could show you my panic!

I know I shouldn't laugh but that is too funny!

I have one of those ionizers and it works well to remove odors.

Maybe just a day with windows open...hope you're in a warm climate!

VINEGAR! I think I saw this a long time ago in the Queen of Clean's book but I searched it and someone has a post!

Thanks for the ideas! We opened the windows for awhile last night and yes it is okay to laugh at this point we are too. I think I will try the vinegar today to clear the hanging smell out!

Wow! No wonder I've never used the self clean option on my oven. I would just open the windows and doors when possible. Maybe some febreeze in the air will help too.
