You Were Born For This

Welcome to another Tuesday giveaway.  Our feature this week is You Were Born For This by Bruce Wilkinson.
My Thoughts
This is a book that will make you stop and think about miracles in a very different way than most of us think about them currently.  Have you ever considered that you can be a messenger for God?  A delivery person of miracles?  Or do you just think miracles used to happen way back in Bible times?  Bruce Wilkinson is ready to challenge your thinking and teach you a new way to approach miracles.  I love the stories in this book of real life miracles.  Check out the video for an example.

In this book you will find miracles divided into several different categories or keys.  I have to say the miracle of forgiveness really struck me but you will have to read the book to get more details.  This would make a great Christmas gift for the person in your life who wants to build a deeper relationship with God.

Summary

His New York Times phenomenon The Prayer of Jabez changed how millions pray. Now Bruce Wilkinson wants to change what they do next.

Anyone can do a good deed, but some good works can only happen by a direct intervention from God. Around the world these acts are called miracles—not that even religious people expect to see one any time soon. But what would happen if millions of ordinary people walked out each morning expecting God to deliver a miracle through them to a person in need? You Were Born for This starts with the dramatic premise that everyone at all times is in need of a miracle, and that God is ready to meet those needs supernaturally through ordinary people who are willing to learn the “protocol of heaven.”

In the straightforward, story-driven, highly motivating style for which he is known, Wilkinson describes how anyone can be a “Delivery Guy” from heaven in such universally significant arenas of life as finances, practical help, relationships, purpose, and spiritual growth.

You Were Born for This will change how readers see their world, and what they expect God can do through them to meet real needs. They will master seven simple tools of service, and come to say with confidence, “I want to deliver a supernatural gift from God to someone in need today—and I expect to!”

Finding my hubby is a miracle for me. Both from same city, met camping in Colorado through mutual friends (I didn't even know I liked camping before I met him)!

One of the Miracles in my life was my step-children coming to live with my husband and I. If they hadn't, my stepdaughter Samantha may not have been diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis and our daughter Gracie might not have either. It's a miracele I met my husband and that we have all 4 of our children living with us. Thanks!

I have had many miracles in my daily life, but one wonderful one is that I was able to travel safely in former Soviet block countries to work with teachers. These teachers were so eager for new teaching strategies, mastered them quickly, and changed the lives of their students. This is an on-going miracle!

My son is a miracle. They said he would never walk due to his birth defect, and he's running. He's such a happy kid and I am so very blessed.

I would love to be entered in your draw. Thanks!

The greatest miracle in my life was when I was sure I would miscarry my baby. Without going into a lot of detail I'll just say that after prayer that didn't happen and my son is now 21 years old.

I just became a follower of your blog and subscribe via Google Reader.

The fact that I'm alive. Doctors advised my mother to abort me-- I'm glad she didn't to say the least! :)

My miracle was my son. Seven years before I had him they told me I couldn't have kids so I had resigned myself to no kids. I then got pregnant and miscarried, had my son 2 years later with a high risk pregnancy and miscarried 4 years later. So he was destined and determined to be born.

My miracle is my 5 year old daughter. God opened up all the doors and allowed us the means to adopt her from China when she was 8 months old.

The miracle in my life is that through me having patience and not pushing, my husband came to know God. Now he leads prayer at every meal, and we pray for the things in life we want, and ask God to show us what He wants. Going from being an atheist to knowing God? Best miracle in the world!

I had a very difficult pregnancy and it is a blessing my son is here. After the rough pregnancy we were so excited for his birth but I nearly died. I had to spend 2 weeks in the hospital. The major blessing is that my mother-in-law was there for my husband and I when we needed her. She took care of our 2 daughters and our newborn son. Thank you so much for the great contest. It reminded how blessed I truly am. :)

My daughter is my miracle. I'd lost a pregnancy before becoming pregnant with my daughter, and then had several complications while I was pregnant with her. We did not know until my fifth month along if we would be able to carry her to term, and later had to go on bed rest due to preeclampsia/toxemia issues. She was born, however, one week early, completely healthy, and is now a happy, beautiful toddler. I am so grateful and we are so blessed.

My miracle is my children being born as I was told I couldn't have children

Sheila Hickmon said...

I have two. Giving birth to my daughter, and then 4 years later, giving birth to my son. I was told when I was 16 I would never be able to have kids, I didn't want to belive that when I met my husband. So we tried anyway. I had 2 miscarriages before my daughter. Then 3 more before my son. I am very blessed.
